Korea,Korea, you are beautiful.
Your inhabitants are friendly.
Your food taste amazing.
Your autumn is so sunny.
Your technology is incredibly advanced.
Your cities are huge.
Your KTX is fast.
Your safety is astonishing.
Your economy emerged rapidly
But You are so so so inefficient...
Korea, how comes that the indoor climate is extremely warm in the winter and extremely cold in the summer?! Yeah, I did not make a typing error.... I did not write that it is cool in the winter and warm in the summer, what you normally would assume..... With my common sense I am not able to comprehend this contradiction which lead to a huge energy consumption. If the goal was to create a indoor climate which should be 25 degrees different with the outdoor climate, I would expect such a phenomena, but nobody claims to have this goal in mind by controlling indoor climate.
Korea, could you explain why you need more clothes indoor in the summer than in the winter? And why are the skirts of the girls getting shorter when it is getting colder during winter time?
Aligning indoor clothing style with the outdoor clothing style makes sense, you don't need that much clothes at all in winter (at least for women). And of cause, in summer it is the opposite...Because tanning is not appreciated, all the body parts are covered in summer. And because the air conditioning is freezing your buttocks off, you need your clothes in the summer. Sorry I don't get it...
One of my professors (from the USA) mentioned a couple of weeks ago that he was surprised about the recycling attitude of Koreans. An it is true, everywhere you go, trash is separated and if not, it will be separated soon after you through away your trash. Glass, plastics, paper, cans, other rubbish...everything is sorted out. In the West we definitely can learn something from your Korea!
Korea you really have an environmental friendly attitude! But on the other hand, your products are packed in an extraordinary amount of material. Every cookie is packed individually and than clustered and then packed in a box or so. Korea you are a role-model in recycling, but why do you produce so much waist?!
And what about the supermarkets, and shopping malls? Korea, why can I find supermarket employees at almost every corner of an aisle of the supermarket? Why are there so many sellers per squared meter to sell clothes? Why are employees welcoming cars at the entrance of the parking building? And why are people welcoming me at the top of the escalator? It is friendly and very warm, I agree, but it must cost a lot of money which is ultimately paid by the customer.
Korea, you are impressing me a lot in many aspects of daily life, but one thing I don't understand, why are you so inefficient?!
tell me, tell me, t..t..t..t..t..tell me.... (for Koreans only ^^)

Peter,
Hi peter, one nore time a good analysis about Korean society!
About supermarket employes I'm not sure that cost so much, actually I only have some assumption but it seems that the salary is really low.. Except that I also have tons of exemple of Korean contradiction...
And I'm still waiting for you and Sukru in Suwon! What about coming next saturday and stay the night?
Hey Pjotr,
