My shortest year ever...

With less than 10 hours to go, the year 2007 almost ended. I realized this morning that this year is 8 hours shorter than normal. And for me, it will turn out to be the shortest year ever up till now.

Yesterday it started snowing and Daejeon is now covered with a beautiful white substance. It lo
oks beautiful but is sooooo cold out here.

Last days I visited Pusan, where I met Jinwook ('83). I got to know Jinwook last semester when we met frequently in the dorm. We lived on the same floor and only 3 rooms next to each other. Together with his younger brother Donghyun ('85) and the other roommate Dongho ('85), we kept in touch regularly. Jinwook graduated for his bachelors degree and prepared for medical school in Pusan.

It was great to visit Jinwook and his parents and it was an amazing experience to experience Korean family life. Jinwook's mother cooked delicious food and prepared a lot of snacks for us. Jinwook and me, together we visited the famous Bomeossa Temple in Pusan. We looked around in the Pusan Historical Museum. His mam drove us to the Pusan World cup Stadium. And
while Jinwook was tutoring for two hours, the first day, his dad drove me to Haeundea Beach. This beautiful beach with an astonishing scenery with Gwangali Bridge, was definitely worth the trip! Pusan is a kind of combination of the busy harbor city Rotterdam and the ambiance the beach of Schevening.

Also staying in an Korean apartment on the 23rd floor was a amazing experience. For Koreans normal, but for me as a Dutch guy the height of those apartments is really exiting.

For some pictures to get visual impression of my visit of Pusan check: http://picasaweb.google.com/petertreur/PusantripDecember (or click on the link on the right)

Wish all of you, a pleasant and enjoyable night tonight. Be careful with the fireworks and all the best for 2008!

Hang on brother, hope we'll meet soon! WiSh.
