Water

It has been almost 2 weeks ago when I returned to the Netherlands from Korea. Yesterday night I had dinner with two KAIST labmates, ChiHyun & SokHyun. We went to a Greek restaurant, situated close to the central station of Eindhoven. For SokHyun another 'exotic' experience, among the many different impressions of Europe during the last week (he just arrived).

ChiHyun (who is here since last August) is enjoying the Netherlands and especially the relatively cheap dairy products and beef :-). He is even able to prepare self-made samjopsal (a typical Korean dish) from ingredients from the Albert Heijn. Buying consumer electronics turned out to be less enjoying, since it is significantly more expensive than buying those goods in Korea.

The Greek food was delicious and for the Koreans there was even a little bit of 밥 (rice). After ' Dutch pay' I left to another appointment and dropped ChiHyun at the TU/e and Sokhyun near the Phillips Stadium. One thing I could not explain my Korean labmates.....the 1,90 Euro charge for a glass of water! (thats about $3/2650won!!).

In the country which exist for 18,4% of water, half of the countries land mass lies below see level, and where water from the tab (water system) is as clean as mineral water, they charge 1,90 euro for one single glass.......isn't that crazy?!
