Air France-KLM purchase of Alitalia collapses

Can you imagine.....you are a relative small player in the European aviation market where competition gets more severe every year. Only the big players will survive. Finally you found a interested party who could save you from bankruptcy, because you are loosing over 1 million Euro ( 1.6 milion US dollar) per day (thats 700 Euro per minute!!). The second airline in Europe, German's Lufthansa announced not to be interested anymore, there is only one serious player left....European market leader KLM-Air France...and then you still think you can demand half of the world....???? That only can happen in Italy with a whole bunch of crazy politicians and labor unions involved! No wonder that KLM-Air France stopped the negotiations without any excuse, yesterday

KLM was founded in 1919 is the oldest carrier in the world still operating under its original name, and thats makes the small Dutch nation proud of cause. Four years ago KLM merged with Air France, to become Europe's giant. And I still believe with the expertise and core competences of KLM-Air France that Alitalia could become profitable again...but....

Air France-KLM offered to buy Alitalia on Thursday after a year of apparent indifference, setting up a showdown with tiny Italian airline Air One for the money-losing Italian carrier. But the labor unions are so stupid to block this acquisition with insane demands! incredible.....I would say, just sell it to the main contributor of the Italian economy..the mafia. Probably does Don Corleone wants to take a stake in this crazy venture....
